Quote the Raven, nevermore....
I love Edgar Aleen Poe, his writing speaking to me in a way no other poets writing has. He was a big part in my early teens, his writing evoking that side of the arts everyone wants to turn a blind eye to. That's what I evoke in my work, something that isn't spoken but seen, so you have to see it.
I love the imagery created in this piece, a raven calling, blood spilled and burnt out candles. Is it the raven that was once perched outside that chamber door? We may not know, for he keeps his secrets unless you listen close.
All paintings are made using lightfast paints and are varnished to stand the test of time.
